It seems that these days everyone wants to do extreme sports. Youngsters all over the world are rushing extreme sports such as downhill mountain biking. They find them more exciting and more challenging than other more classic sports such as football or basketball. Downhill mountain biking is one of the sports that attracts a lot of attention and followers. The sport involves few competing styles. Of course there are some obstacles that are on your way, the terrain is rough, there are trees that you need to avoid hitting, etc. Most of the races are pretty extreme and you need to have the stomach to take part of this sport. Not to mention how often the accidents are and that you can easily jump up to few meters if you are not focused or if you can over estimate your abilities. Therefore if you mind having bruises and you mind the risk you better stay in the audience.

However, if you want to feel the rush that comes with this sport and you are determined to be part of it you need to get yourself a downhill bike. There are plenty of downhill bikes that are at your disposal and that you can buy. However, not all are as good as advertised. There are few criteria`s that you need to have in mind when buying your downhill bike.

The main thing to consider the bike has a low center of gravity. The center of gravity needs to be low as well as more to the rear. In addition to that the downhill bike needs to have a great suspension. Also, it is of great importance the downhill bike to have full suspension. The suspension is another important feature. It needs to have excellent front and rear suspension. Also, you can add to that some heavy tubing. The safety equipment is something that you need to buy together with the bike. You need a helmet, goggles, and body suit, knee and hand pads. That is the basic safety equipment that even if you are not a professional mountain biker.
