The Oregon Geese Rank No. 11 in the Preseason Polls

Posted by Thomas on November 25, 2011

The USA These days preseason coaches’ poll areas the Oregon Geese in posture 11 although Oregon Express comes in at posture 22. After the off-season video games this year, the Oregon Geese found themselves minus 5 players who have been dismissed from the team. This variety included commencing quarterback Jeremiah Masoli whose absence could affect the team’s performance in this season’s football video games.

In view of the fact that the team has yet to name a commencing quarterback, their posture at variety 11 seems slightly over-optimistic. Even so with a team which includes running back LaMichael James, possession receiver Jeff Maehl and defensive players Kenny Rowe and John Boyett the poll choice seems to be justifiable.

Within the meantime, OSU has already two players eyed for the commencing posture and these will undergo intense training throughout fall camp. They are Nate Costa and Darren Thomas.

The very first 5 areas in the preseason polls went to Alabama, Ohio Express, Florida, Texas and Boise Express. The preseason polls are helpful for a team to reach posture 1 or 2 in the postseason polls and qualify for the BCS national championships. The higher the preseason polls, the far better the team’s chances. Even now, with some 10 levels to pass by way of, The Geese don’t seem to have that a great a shot at the prize this year.

The groups very first three video games this season will probably be against three un-ranked groups; New Mexico, Tennessee and Portland Express in chronological sequence. Additionally none of the top 5 groups are slated to face them, although they have a game against USC. The Geese really should be able to pull themselves up two or three slots in the postseason ratings.

The schedule of the team is as follows.

September 4 – against New Mexico 3:30 pm
September 11 against Tennessee 7:30 pm
September 18 against Portland Express – TBD
September 25 against Arizona Express 10:30 pm
October 2 against Stanford 11:15 pm
October 9 against Washington Express – TBD
October 21 against UCLA 9:00 pm
October 30 against USC 8:00 pm
November 6 against Washington – TBD
November 13 against California – TBD
November 26 against Arizona 7:00 pm
December 4 against Oregon Express – TBD

Following the misdemeanors of some of their team members throughout the off-season video games, the Geese have some reputation re-building to do. Specifically, some team members have been engaged in brawling, drugs, theft and indiscriminate Facebook publications.
Even now the team has the ideal member to assist them clean up the mess left behind by their team mates. This is Quarterback Nate Costa who happens to be 1 of the favorites for the posture of commencing player this year. Nate Costa, presently a police intern, recovered from three crippling knee injuries to lead the team, soon after Masoli’s dismissal, to victory more than UCLA.

Masoli, on the other hand, joins Ole Miss Rebels this year to vie for the quarterback posture, not probably as a player with promise, since he has only 1 season left to play. A lot of are even now speculating on that move of his and on the reasons of coach Houston Nutt for accepting him.
