Training Per Se Will Not Improve Your Golf Game

Many people believe that simply getting out on the course and playing as often as they can is enough to practice their golf game. If you want to steadily improve your game, constant practice would not be enough and can even harm your game if you don’t have the right fundamentals and don’t go through the proper drills. Trainers stress the fundamentals, so if you have gotten things wrong from the beginning you will just be honing your mistakes when you practice incorrectly.
Drills to strengthen your core come in handy when you need to improve your swing. To get in condition for the swing, do push-up like exercises. Get in a push-up position on the floor and hold your body straight with just your hands and feet on the floor. Raise your right hand and left leg, and count up to 15 seconds while keeping your balance. Repeat the process with the other hand and leg. This drill is to make you stronger and control your balance.
Putting is over short distances, so you can practice it at home or at the office. At home, you can putt a few shots during each commercial break of your favorite show. You can do it at the office also taking advantage of your every free time even for only a few minutes all day long. Vary your shots so you’re not putting from the same distance each time. Getting used to putting almost every day will calm your nerves when playing real games and make you putt better.
As you go through your drill routines, observe how your body feels and reacts to the movements. You should notice if your lower back needs strengthening. If your body is a little stiff then you obviously need more flexibility. That is why physical conditioning is an important component of a golf training program. Your practices should focus on your part of the body that needs strengthening or flexibility so it is important to recognize where you are weak or strong.
Once you have identified your weaknesses, then you know what corrective training you need to focus on. You will have a real good time playing golf if you see your game getting better all the time.
